This is the latest I've ever released my annual Christmas cards! I injured my back almost 2 weeks ago and I've been miserable ever since. It's been a slow recovery, but I hope to be back in shape soon. My kids have been into the Nutcracker this year so we went with that for a theme. My daughter loves the dancing, my son loves the swords! MERRY CHRISTMAS AND HAPPY 2015!

I HATE ZOMBIES Card Game Artwork
I'm VERY proud to show art for a NEW Kickstarter I'm involved with. My very first time being involved with a Kickstarter. A fun card game called I HATE ZOMBIES done with my pal Chad Krizan at BoardGameGeek.com! The game is designed by creator Kevin Wilson and illustrated by little ol' me. I designed a bunch of kooky characters for it, lots of fun and weird creations. For once I like the designs of the human characters better than the actual monsters! I can't show all of the art as of yet, but here are a few, more to come later!
Please support this awesome project!

A new #Inktober, this visitor yearns for the Halloweens of yesteryear, where you could get away with just wearing a cheap, thin plastic mask.

Green Bay FEAR 2014 T-shirt Designs
Here are a couple of t-shirt designs I recently created for Green Bay FEAR, which is a local haunted attraction in my area. The shirts will also be available for a related car show. They were both heavily influenced by Ed "Big Daddy" Roth's world. I loved all those vintage hot-rod designs!

Cartoon Network's Uncle Grandpa Comic Book Series Cover
A fun side project I illustrated this summer for Boom! Studios. A cover for the comic series based on Cartoon Network's trippy animated show "Uncle Grandpa". I drew a second cover which will come out later this year (I think). I love drawing Mr. Gus.

Wrath of the Galactic Empire
The latest cover I drew for Belgian Star Wars fanzine, Teekay-421. I've always loved Dewbacks and Sandtroopers so they had to be in this one.

RIP Robin Williams
I was shocked and saddened to hear about one of my all time favorite performer's death today. He was a big part of my childhood, and always a creative force I admired. I was a huge fan of Mork & Mindy back when it was a brand new tv show, watching it every week, and loved him as Popeye. Thanks for the smiles, laughs, and memories Robin! You will be greatly missed.

The Shadow Hero
Here is my own promotional artwork for the new graphic novel "The Shadow Hero" by the amazing team of writer Gene Luen Yang and illustrator extraordinaire Sonny Liew, and published by First Second books. The story of the Green Turtle is a fascinating one. He was considered the very first Asian-American superhero on the comic book page, but sadly back in the 1940's race was an issue. His ethnicity was kept hidden. Gene and Sonny bring this amazing hero back to modern audiences in full blazing glory revealing his mysterious origins. Twenty Seven illustrators celebrate the Green Turtle this month of July by showing their own renditions of him. I'm proud to be one of them. Please pick up or order the book in stores now!

Remembering Randy "Macho Man" Savage
OOOOOOOOH YEEAAAHHHHHHH...Betcha you didn't know that today marks the third anniversary of the death of the legendary pro-wrestler Randy "Macho Man" Savage. I started this drawing the day that Randy passed away, then due to some big changes in my life, I shelved the drawing to focus on other things. Randy was always one of my favorite wrestlers when I watched the WWF back in the 80's. He always made me laugh with his dynamic and intense personality. RIP Mr. Poffo!

Sheriff of Nugget Gulch-1937
Okay…here is my last Disney themed piece for a while. Another piece inspired by the great Floyd Gottfredson's 1937 Wild West themed story "Sheriff of Nugget Gulch".This was from the colored Sunday strips. Back in the days before the longer adventure stories shifted toward gag strips.

Goofy
A drawing of Goofy in the 1930's, inspired by the late cartoonist Floyd Gottfredson (1905 – 1986). Floyd drew the Disney strips for several decades. I just love his work and embarrassed to admit that I did not know know about him until fairly recently. Since then I've been collecting the Mickey Mouse volumes. Goofy has always been my favorite Disney character.

Peg-leg Pete
Here is another recent Walt Disney inspired illustration. Original Disney bad-guy (and one of my favorites) Peg-leg Pete. This one is based off how he is shown in the most recent Mickey Mouse short "Get a Horse". I've always loved the design on this character and he can fit into any genre that Mickey is thrown into. Done with India Ink and Photoshop.

Donald Duck
After a recent trip to Walt Disney World, my interest in classic Disney characters was rekindled. Here is one of the ideas I had while visiting the Magic Kingdom. Everyone's favorite, ill-tempered waterfowl.

Happy 110th Birthday to Dr. Suess!
Yesterday was the legendary genius Ted (Dr. Suess) Geisel's 110th birthday. To celebrate the birth of one of my all-time favorite authors and illustrators, I drew one of the enthusiastic Harvard Club members from 1948's "Thidwick the Big-Hearted Moose".

Support for Stan and Sharon Sakai
This is a piece I recently illustrated to benefit Usagi Yojimbo creator Stan Sakai and his wife Sharon. They both recently lost their grandson, and have also been struggling with Sharon's debilitating illness which has let to costly medications and around the clock care.
Here is the link to the information…
I've always been a fan of Stan's work and wanted to donate something for the Cartoon Art Professional Society auction and fundraiser. I met him years ago at a comic book convention and he was a very friendly and approachable individual.
I created this traditionally with India Ink and watercolor.
